Lanterna Tutors
It is largely due to our elite IB Alumni tutors that we continuously receive fantastic evaluations - during 2010 we received a 97.6% recommendation rate from our students.
Elite tutors are key to our students' success, they are the superstars of our courses and they are who students aspire to be. They have themselves sat and mastered the IB exams. Not only have they scored excellently, they are also able to transfer their knowledge and IB insights to our students in an effective way. At Lanterna we think that this is the most important quality for a tutor to have - to be able to transfer knowledge so that the student understands.
We conduct multiple stage interviews to test various important abilities so that we only get the very best. All tutor candidates go through this process ensuring that the few elite who do who hold positions with us meet our requirements.
Being a tutor is an extremely rewarding and fun job. It is not however easy. Every year we employ around 50 tutors and just because someone received 45 IB points doesn't mean that they are automatically suited for a Lanterna tutor position. They need to prove that they can in fact transfer knowledge in a passionate way so that IB students understand perfectly. That's why our tutors are the very best.
