Chemistry Paper 2 question:
The conversion of iron(II) chloride to iron(III) chloride using chlorine gas can be used to illustrate the definitions of the terms oxidation and reduction. Write an equation for this reaction and deduce what is oxidised and reduced, by reference to both electron transfer and oxidation numbers.
The electron transfer part is most confusing, how can I answer this?
